Datasim Press is involved in publishing information
regarding the full software lifecycle and in particular will
concentrate on the following major phases:
- Requirements Determination
- Domain Architectures and Reusable frameworks
- Analysis (UML)
- Design and design patterns
These phases are discussed in the "Datasim
Development Process (DDP)" white paper. Our policy is to
adopt and apply standard software technologies (such as UML,
patterns, C++, Java) whenever possible and to integrate into
a process that can be used on real applications. These phases
make use of three major technology 'streams':
- Object Oriented technology
- Component technology
- Agent technology
|
 |
Summarising, the four phases and the three technologies will
represent the foundations for the Datasim Press activities.
Interests and Application Areas. Our main interest is in promoting
interest in and knowledge of a number of key application areas:
- Financial applications (especially risk and derivative
modeling)
- Graphics, visualization and CAD systems
- Logistics (e.g. ERP, supply chain)
- Process control systems
- Software tools (e.g. CASE frameworks)
All books, periodicals and other Press products will pay attention
to one or more of the above areas. In this way we hope to ensure
that the publishing activities remain focused. |
